respond to this post. My perception of uncertainty is not knowing what to do next. While I do not have any experience personally with decision-making under uncertainty in my workplace, I have witnessed my manager not knowing whether to close the coffee shop during a power outage, or just make iced drinks and only accept cash until the power comes back on. Power outages only happen once in a blue moon, but the times it has happened when I was on shift, the power came back on within 30 minutes. However, at the time of the power outages, we did not know how long the power was going to be out. We did not know if it would be back on in 10 minutes or the next day. During a power outage, we can not make hot or frozen drinks due to needing power to make the machines work, and we can not take card or Apple Pay payments due to our system being down.
