The three characteristics I selected that I have seen a team exemplify in are clear goals, balanced participation and cooperative relationships. I also selected these three based on the type of team that I would want to be part of as well. Reflecting on my previous experiences working with teams, I remember being in my master's program developing a group project that went well. I have also participated in group projects that have not gone well too. When they didn't do well it was because roles were not clearly defined and there is a lack of leadership and communication regarding whom is responsible for what part of the project. Setting clear goals is needed when developing a project and to understand the purpose of the team coming together. Barriers to this include lack of leadership which can lead to lack of goals and objectives (Borkowski, 2016).
