The five different characteristics being skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy, and feedback. The first three as based off of the employees perception. Expect this to be a bit different for each person as everyone will perceive things differently than the next. Autonomy is based off the amount of responsibilities means the more independence. Some people get great satisfaction from being independent at work, having a lot of responsibility with minimal micromanaging. And lastly, is giving feedback and explanation on how the employee is performing. Providing feedback can be really good for the employees to know how they are doing, discussing future expectations and professional goals. Intrinsic motivation is motivation that comes from within everyone while extrinsic comes from external things. Everyones intrinsic and extrinsic motivation can be different from the others. These can work alongside one another while reaching for that job satisfaction. For instance, one may complete all work task before a deadline because they wanted to complete it to not be so stressed about it on the inside, but externally may be looking for recognition from others
