DJ Richards wanted to find out if he was on track for an adequate retirement. We would like to have an annual income of at least $60,000 when he retires. He received a Social Security Benefit statement a few months ago that said as it currently stands, he will receive a $1,235 a month at his full retirement age. He figures he will have to work until he is at least 65. The only retirement funds he currently has is a 401(k) plan with a current balance of $55,700. DJ is about 30 years away from retirement.
