This is practice for the geometry you will be simulating in lab. The system consists of an inner portion (a cylinder composed of material 1 with resistivity p1 and radius ri) and an outer portion [a cylindrical annulus composed of the same material 1, with inner radius ri+t and outer radius r0), separated by a thin cylindrical shell (made from material 2 with resistivity p2 and thickness t, in blue in the diagrams). The entire cylindrical sandwich has a length L. You will calculate the resistance between the inner and outer portions under two different sets of assumptions: one where you assume only the sandwich layer (material 2) contributes, and one where you assume only material 1 contributes. Simplify your results assuming that the thickness t is very small compared to the inner and outer radii.
