Review the Case Study of Naomi document found in the Learning Resources and think about using a supervision-specific model rather than psychotherapy-based model as a clinical supervision framework. Select at least two supervision models from two different categories that you would consider adopting as a framework for your clinical supervision of Naomi. Select from developmental, process, and second-generation models. Review the assigned journal articles from this week's Learning Resources. Consider how the supervision models discussed in these articles would inform your clinical supervision of Naomi. Search the Walden Library and/or the literature to make sure you have evidence to support your supervisory models you selected. Assess the different models of clinical supervision you reviewed this week, paying close attention to key concepts of the models, assumptions of the models, and related techniques and interventions. Consider how the dynamics of supervision might be affected by the model you would employ in a supervisory session based upon the setting and supervision role.

Case Study: Naomi You are a clinical supervisor in a community counseling practice that regularly includes practicum and internship students from several local universities. Naomi, a graduate student in a Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Education Practices (CACREP) accredited counseling program, who has already completed her practicum at the university on-site training clinic and who is planning to begin her internship experience next fall, approaches you. Naomi is particularly excited about the possibility of working with you because of your background in non-verbal treatment modalities. Naomi is a 28-year-old Puerto Rican female from the deaf community. She is completely deaf and has managed to complete her graduate work thus far with the use of sign language interpreters and note-takers. During her clinical practicum, the university also provided TTY devices so that her faculty supervisor was able to communicate with her in real time during Naomi's counseling sessions. Court reporters transcribed all of her counseling sessions live, so that she could review them with her graduate supervisor. Naomi holds the distinction of being the only deaf student from her program to complete a clinical practicum successfully. All of her clients from her practicum experience were from the hearing culture. However, Naomi's dream is to complete her degree and to work within the deaf community.
