Reviewing the measurements of central tendency, dispersion and quartiles, is important because it can provide understanding of the direction in which the company is headed and allow management to make educated decisions based on the data provided. Reviewing each part of the summary table thoroughly helps to obtain clear understanding in the stability of the a business. For example according to Anderson (et al, 2021) geometric mean is often used in analyzing growth rates in financial data, while providing the percentages in aspects of the business that would be thriving and others that are suffering, computing quartiles. Mean, medium, mode and range are used to simplify central tendency using descriptive statics. "People use descriptive statistics to repurpose hard-to-understand quantitative insights across a large data set into bite-sized descriptions" (Hayes, 2022).
