Revise: I completed the "How Good Are Your Management Skills?" self-assessment of my managerial skills on the Mind Tools website. I received a score of 86. I would consider this a good managerial score, although there is room for improvement. This assessment did not exactly give me details on areas where I could improve, so I made sure to read about the 8 essential skill areas that managers should focus on. I have found that being a manager, I excel in patient-centered care management, collaboration, and communication. I enjoy motivating, planning, and encouraging good relationships. It is important to me that others know they are also important, and that I value them. I believe that areas I could work on are managing discipline, dealing with conflict, problem solving and decision making. These are areas that I need to build my confidence in, and learn new skills in. My managerial skills supported my academic success in being the Director of Patient Experience for the Marshall Medical Center Case Study because I was able to see the bigger picture, and the affect that one problem has on so many different job roles and stakeholders
