Reward Management :Sheannrater Ltd . You have been tasked with advising the new Managing Director of Shearwater Ltd. on how to develop a new reward strategy for the firm. In order to provide comprehensive ideas ,the MD has asked you to consider the following questions 1. What are the business objectives that need to be reflected in the new reward strategy ? What desirable behaviours should the strategy seek to reinforce ? Are there any undesirable behaviours that the strategy might seek to eradicate ? 2. How might performance-related pay be an effective way of 'trimming' the labour costs - relation to overall company performance ? 3. What might be the benefits of consulting staff over ways in which to reduce labour costs ? 4. Consider the following forms of performance related pay and consider their applicability to the different groups of workers at Shearwater: skills-based pay; individual or team based performance-related pay; incentive bonuses; and profit- sharing You are required to read the case Shearwater Ltd. before preparing a 15 minute consultancy pitch .You are required to present in front of the class and therefore ,you will have to produce a power point presentation Your pitch should include the following: ' Your group information (name, skills and members) ' An outline of the context (size of the organisation. nature of the business. industry. level of competition ,main threats ,main strengths ) ' An overview of the main issues presented in the case ' An outline of what may have caused the issues (based on theory) ' A set of detailed recommendations that outline specific HR policies (include the potential benefits from the recommendations and also any limitations [drawbacks ) An order of priority of the recommendations (what is the most important thing on your recommendation list and why '2') ' A brief description of expected resource implications of the recommendations (how much to implement your suggestions [are they labour intensive [do they require staff or managers to undergo training ?) ' A sales pitch as to why you are the best group for the job. Good presentations will make an effort to link the issues and subsequent recommendations to the theory presented in the lectures. You should aim to include citations on your slides to evidence this
