rewrite: The company I was previously at practiced horrible formal and informal ethical behavior. When I was hired, I had informal training from a company that shared partners with this company. I explained during the hiring process that this company had much higher value imports and exports and that I would need them to pay for the education to do these tasks properly. The management assured me that they already had a training process and gave me the impression that I would be taught how to import and export items through formal ethical training within their company. Unfortunately, the formal training was focused more on compliance with ethical behavior and the handbook instead of compliance pertaining to trade laws. I spoke with my supervisor and asked when the training would be held for Trade Compliance. She had no idea what the difference was between the two and that frightened me. This illuminated the complete lack of formal and informal ethics I would expect because it was apparent that they never actually knew what they were talking about in the interview process.
