rewrite This module consists of different topics which cover the fundamentals of power system operation. This will help the System Operators to understand how high voltage systems operate and all the components associated with the BES. Because of its complexity it requires specialized performance based training in order to work safely and competently. This module will provide the foundation, discipline and philosophy needed to be able to successfully operate the power system. It will be a requirement that all new System Operators, who will perform the TOP, TSP and BA functions, complete all of the topics that are contained in the Power System Training Module before they can be deemed qualified to go on shift rotation. To be deemed qualified, there are assignments that need to be completed and graded. The Systems Operations Engineer - Operations will deliver all of the training offered in the Power System Operator Training Module. Once the Power System Operator Training Module is completed it will not be mandatory to complete it again in the future. However if any System Operator feels there is a need to complete any of the modules again (refresher), they will be available to complete. A formal survey of all System Operators will be completed yearly by the System Operations Engineer - Operations to see if refresher training is required. Also, a request can be made to the System Operations Engineer - Operations for any refresher training in the Power System Operator Training module.
