RICO was used to take down criminal enterprises such as the Genovese crime family, the Hell's Angels, and MS-13, among others. It seems that with civil RICO we've gotten pretty far away from that.

Do you think this is an overreach by the federal government to allow people to use RICO to sue organizations in this fashion? Do the plaintiffs in these situations deserve their day in court or was it just their tough luck?
