Your task will be to present the content of your chapters in a seminar using powerpoint slides as your communication tool to share your scientific understanding on robot and AI technologies.
Then, each group is to write a one-thousand-word essay, separated equally between Robots and AI. The essay would separately address the following, with respect to the chapters read, that is, chapters 1 and 3 of Matarics book on Robots, and chapters 3 and 5 of Boadus book on AI, and the additional chapters of Matarics book read through the group collaboration.
1. what is the general content, what features are discussed
2. is there anything in the text that you did not understand, but thought it may be relevant for law?.
3. is there anything in the text that you did not understand, but thought it would probably be of little legal interest, so can be left aside?
4. Does a specific issue in the chapters pose legal issues here you may have to be creative for instance, a description of how a robot or AI system can be built to work accurately can raise legal issues if it malperforms: was it built according to the best of our knowledge, or was it below acceptable standards?
5. how realistic do you think the depictions are? Can current systems perform this task, will they soon be able to, or is the description of their abilities unrealistic?
