Rochelle said she had been in a relationship with Jasmin's father prior to going to prison. Rochelle said that this partner was violent toward her and had a gambling addiction. Rochelle said she was charged with fraud and received a 6-month custodial sentence. Rochelle said she is now on parole. Rochelle said that this was her first offence. Rochelle said that her daughter, Jasmin, lived with a friend whilst she was in prison. Rochelle said that she herself suffers from severe headaches since a violent assault from her former partner, Jasmin's father. Rochelle said that her parents live in a country town in Western NSW, and are unable to support her emotionally as there has been many family issues since Rochelle was young. Rochelle said that her parents had a violent relationship and that her parents now have many health issues, and are partially isolated from their community.
Rochelle says that since she has left prison, she has had daily panic attacks and experiencing a lot of anxiety, has difficulty getting out of bed due to panic attacks. Rochelle said she had many bad experiences in prison, and she feels that her daughter, Jasmin, suffered a lot without her being available. Rochelle is very concerned that her daughter has been seriously affected by her own stay in prison.
