Ron oversees three operations at ACME Company: fill, pack, and label. He was promoted from within the organization. Last week, Ron informed his operations manager, Dan, that he was resigning for a higher-paying job closer to his residence. Ron gave Dan a month's notice and offered to bring in the new supervisor.

Each operation is staffed by a crew of low-skilled employees with long tenure and decent pay. Over the course of their employment, they have formed a bond and an informal leader has emerged from each team. Ron is faced with several operational problems. Employee motivation has decreased. Morale is low and absenteeism is 10%. The overtime rate has increased to 20%. Employees perceive obvious favoritism and unfair labor practices. Productivity figures are well below standard and product returns have increased. Each crew seems to function as an island and a conflict between groups is brewing. Communication is hampered by conflict, indifference, and alienation. Among the groups, Ron has identified two new college graduates as his possible successor; however, groups, especially informal leaders, have not fully accepted them. Therefore, you also cannot expect a warm welcome from employees who may be passed over for promotion. Dan is thinking of hiring outside candidates for the position. This person must be fit for the job and quickly address issues facing operations.

You are tasked with recruiting and selecting the best candidate for the job. Apply all the theories and concepts of organizational behavior that you have learned in the last few weeks.

Research and present the following requirements:

  1. Job Description: Please list all job information, qualifications, and responsibilities appropriate for this position.
  2. Recruitment Plan: Design how to attract the best candidates for this job, including advertising, job posting, and any incentives.
  3. Selection Process: Use an efficient method to narrow down the list and select the best candidate.
  4. Interview Questionnaire: Prepare a list of questions that you will be asked during the interview process.
