Safety First manufactures airbags for sale to the automobile industry.In March 2013, Danny Driver is in an accident in a car with a Safety First airbag installed. When the airbag discharges, it explodes unexpectedly sending shrapnel throughout the car.Danny is severely injured by the shrapnel and sues Safety First for the physical injuries from the crash. He later develops problems sleeping and must quit his job after he is diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.Because Danny had served in active combat in the military, the exploding airbag caused the PTSD as diagnosed by a psychologist.

In the investigation, it is discovered that airbags with serial numbers 10024-112354 were all improperly sealed. Discovery also shows that at there was massive absenteeism among the testing department at Safety First due to a viral illness during the same time period as the manufacture of the airbags in question and that the management did not replace the absent testing personnel.Instead the factory used statistical analysis to test a smaller number of the airbags.Finally, discovery shows that an unusually large number of production personnel in that division were new employees who were being trained. Although there were a large number of trainees, the factory did not add supervisory staff to the floor.Please evaluate whether Safety First is liable for the injuries to Danny.
