Sally offers to sell his Corsa Bakkie to Peter. Peter is concerned that the vehicle may be defective in certain respects. When he raises his concerns, Sally says 'Don't worry, before I deliver the Bakkie, I will have any the defects repaired by ABC Panel Beaters'. A few days later, Peter takes delivery of the vehicle and pays the full purchase price. He then discovers ABC Panel Beaters have not repaired or even seen the Bakkie. The manager of ABC Panel Beaters tells Peter that they have ceased to have any dealings with Sally two years ago, when she failed to settle a debt which she owed them.
