He said they could pay whatever they could afford so long as they paid a total of $5,000 within the next three years, the additional $1400 being finance charges and incidental costs. After 6 months the Grossbergs had paid a total of $500. when they both lost their jobs and were unable to continue payments any amount. Friendly filed suit for the $4,500 that remained unpaid.
