Sam and Tom are considering employing workers to carry out the manufacturing aspect of the business. This means that they will need to select and recruit suitable employees. They have asked that you advise them about what they will need to produce for both the contract of employment and of course their employees handbook. Sam has drafted a proposed job advertisement which states the following, he wishes to know if this is suitable to use: Wanted experienced shoe and boot leather workers for up and coming new business. We are looking for suitable workers who have either relevant training or experience to help us build our business. You will have been working in the industry for over 10 years. We offer generous working conditions for the right person, you will have an employment contract which will require you to work for 38 hours per week, with overtime offered where possible. Your role will also include night time working, forklift and other heavy lifting may be required in the workshop. Good spoken and written English is needed to ensure that you can communicate well with other workers but we are also realistic that you will be working in a factory floor so expect that there will be some "banter" - we like to offer a friendly environment. You will also need to bring your own safety tools. Rates of pay will be negotiated, but those who are able to offer night time working will be advantaged. We cannot offer term time or school term contracts only
