Sample Company ABC September 2019 Closing Activity Sample Company ABC is a Software as a Service (SaaS) company reporting on an accrual basis and closing the books monthly. They have annual subscriptions and provide consulting services. Their prepaid policy is for items greater than or equal to $1,000 and their capitalization policy is for purchases equal to or over $2,000. Sample Company is attending an event the week of 9/15/19 and purchased the booth on 7/2/19 for $1,500 and booked their flights on 8/1/19 for $875 using the company credit card. In advance of the trip on 9/7/19 they shipped some materials to the venue for $150 and charged it the postal account. While attending the event they had some uber costs of $75 and purchased meals $600 and supplies of $225 all paid for with the company debit card. The supplies were purchased by the owner on their personal credit card - the owner indicated that they would like to be paid back eventually but understand it cannot happen right now. While at the event it was determined it would be a cost savings to book for the 9/16/20 event, so they paid $1,000 on 9/20/19. They hired a speaker for the event who was to speak on 9/17/19 for $1,750, however they haven't received the bill from them yet. How would you record the September 2019 activity? At the event, Sample Company ABC booked a new customer. This customer has agreed to pay $12,000 for a one-year subscription. What is the effect on the General Ledger from the invoice you created? What other entries are required in the future?
