Sandy placed an ad on local online marketplace (similar to Kijiji or Craig's List) as follows

The next day, November 2, Sandy's friend, Caleb saw the advertisement and sent her Facebook message saying "I saw your ad and I'd like to buy your laptop for $180. Let me know how you want to be paid."

November 4, Michael saw the ad and send an email to s..y@gmail.com saying he would like to buy the laptop and asked if he could break the $200 into 4 payments over 2 months.

November 4, Paul saw the ad and send an email to transfer the money via interact e-transfer (online banking) and used the email address s..y@gmail.com.

Unfortunately, Sandy never saw the notification email from her bank because it went into her Spam folder. Sandy forgot her password for her online banking account and did not check her bank account's transactions.

November 6, Sandy changed her mind about getting a new laptop and removed the listing for her laptop. She changed the wording to say "offer has been revoked"

November 7, Sandy emailed Caleb and Michael and told them that she was no longer selling her laptop.
