SAQ 2. (5 pts.) Consider the situation described below: "My company is involved in repair of jet-engine parts for airlines, engine manufacturers, and 3rd party overhaul shops around the world. In this business, quality has to be a given as flight safety cannot be compromised. Given that quality is equal for all similar repair shops, we must identify and deliver what each customer values the most in order to set ourselves apart from the competition. For overhaul shops, turnaround time (TAT) is always the most important because they have contracts with their airline customers specifying how long they will have the customer's engine off the wing of the plane. Overhaul times average around 45 days which allows for 5 days tearing down the engine, 20 days repairing the parts, and 20 days to build it back up and test it. Every day that the engine is off the wing represents a loss of revenue for the airlines. We fall into the 20-day time to repair parts. As such we have signed contracts guaranteeing delivery in 18 days for certain parts. While most of our customers value TAT the highest, we have a group of customers who value overall cost. These
