Sara is a 39-year-old, her parents divorced when she was 5 years old. Following the divorce her mother remarried, there was ongoing Domestic and Family Violence up until she moved out of home aged 16. Her mother still resides with her stepfather, who is the perpetrator of the violence. While disclosing a traumatic events and trauma, the counsellor interrupts and says: "That doesn't make sense. Why didn't you do something?"
