Sarpeidon Incorporated, manufacturer of high-tech lab equipment, prides itself on the quality of its products. Their high-end chronometer, the Atavachron, is advertised to measure time with a standard deviation of 80 nanoseconds. The Contrle Officiel Suisse des Chronomtres, or COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) is an internationally recognized institute responsible for certifying the accuracy and precision of chronometers. Every Atavachron Sarpeidon Inc. produces must be rigorously tested to meet the standards set by to COSC. Mr. Atoz is the quality tester who calibrates each Atavachron produced to ensure it is compliant with COSC regulations. Mr. Atoz' calibration testing involves emitting a laser at a sensor placed a fixed distance away. Both the laser and sensor are connected to the Atavachron. The Atavachron begins timing when the laser is emitted and records how long it takes for the laser to hit the sensor. In theory, the experiment should take the same amount of time, however, no chronometer is perfect. The dataset being analyzed contains the recorded times for 100 calibration runs for a recently produced Atavachron. Perform the following: 1) Construct a Q-Q Plot of the data. - 2 pt 2) Is it plausible to conclude the 100 times recorded follow a normal distribution approximately? Justify your answer. - 12 pt 3) Construct a two-sided 90% Confidence Interval for the standard deviation of the time measurement for the device being evaluated in the dataset? - 2 pts 4) Sarpeidon Incorporated's internal calibration standards requires the tester perform the following hypothesis test for each Atavachron produced, H0: = 80 nanoseconds vs. HA 80 at level of significance 0 = 0.1. If a device is produced that rejects this null hypothesis based on the results of the calibration testing, the device is deemed ineligible for sale. For the device being tested in the dataset, would Mr. Atoz approve the device for sale? - 12 pt Time 1070 1000 1000 1000 980 980 980 970 960 960 960 960 950 950 950 940 940 940 930 930 920 910 910 900 900 890 890 890 880 880 880 880 880 880 880 880 880 880 870 870 870 870 860 860 860 850 850 850 850 850 850 850 850 840 840 840 840 840 840 840 840 830 830 820 820 810 810 810 810 810 810 810 810 810 810 800 800 800 800 800 790 790 790 780 780 770 760 760 760 760 760 750 740 740 740 720 720 720 650 620
