In 1997 they moved to Delaware and in 1999 changed the name is what it is today, Dick's Sporting Goods, INC. Dick's Sporting Goods, INC has posted three risks to their business. They include dependance on macroeconomic conditions, intense competition and fluctuation in product costs and availability. Macroeconomic conditions such as inflation, consumer confidence in the economy, public health concerns or geopolitical conflicts which DSG has no control over effects their business both cost and in sales. DSG depends on their customers using discretionary spending money. Most items they sell are not necessities but novelty items. When economic conditions reduce, and spending is less then people tend to reduce their discretionary spending thus the business slows down. With the world having so many choices and places to buy from the competition has increased significantly. They have competition from all angles, brick and mortar stores, online, specialty shops, mass
