Scenario 1 Car park in the University of Queensland, Great Court Complex The Brisbane City Council is proposing to build a concrete/paved open-spaced car park in a small section of the University of Queensland's {UQ} Great Court Complex. This Planned Proposal is located on Lot 382, 12 Upland Road, St. Lucia. The proposed car park will allow selected staff to use this space for parking, as car parks are already sparse at UQ and there is growing demand for future parking space, especially closer spaces to university buildings. The car park will only be one level, parallel parking spaces and includes a floor space of approximately T8 x 32 m. The concept of the Planning Proposal is to keep the architectural design to just a one level, open-space car park, and to reduce clearing any trees or vegetation, if possible, on the Great Court Complex site. However, the University of Queensland, Great Court Complex could be a signicant place tr both the local and state heritage. Therefore, the Client is calling for a Management Plan for this Planning Proposal to see if there will be any significant issues with the development, specically those that are heritage related. As a Heritage Planner, your goal is to create a Management Plan that would identify the issues with the construction of a car park and offer management strategies and conservation planning for the development using the guidelines provided.
