Scenario 1
Cassy Brown met Chad Lawrence on an online dating app. After chatting via text for a few days, the two agreed to meet for drinks. Cassy states that she and Chad were chatting and having fun when she stepped away from the bar to take a phone call. When she returned to the bar, Cassy finished her drink and began to feel very intoxicated despite having only had two drinks. Cassy states that she awoke in her bed and had no idea how she got there. Fearing a possible sexual assault, Cassy immediately reported to the nearest hospital for an examination by a sexual assault nurse examiner. Later that day, detectives questioned Cassy and searched her apartment for clues. Separately questioning Chad in his condo, Chad states that Cassy did in fact take a phone call during their date, and appeared upset afterwards. Chad states Cassy had 4 drinks not two and that she called an Uber and left the bar separately from him.
Scenario 2
Miranda Smith was a high level business woman who was single and lived alone. Miranda phoned her mother Friday night and arranged to meet her for lunch on Saturday. On Saturday, Miranda did not show up for lunch with her mother, so her parents responded to her condo to make sure Miranda was okay. Miranda was not in her condo, however her back patio door was ajar and her coffee table was overturned as if there had been a struggle. Police conducted a search of Miranda's condo and noted that her purse and cell phone were in her bedroom, but her vehicle was missing. They noted a bit of blood and hair on some of the broken glass of the coffee table and a bloody hand print on the wall. Police in a neighboring state located Miranda's car in a junk yard. Blood and hair was observed in the trunk of her vehicle.
