Dialogue Topics: A Suicidal Youth

Instructions:

The first assignment involves creating a dialogue between a client and a counsellor.

Use the various counseling skills to create the dialogue and indicate in the scenario when using specific skills

This should be 1000 words. It should be formatted in the following way:

One or two paragraphs at the beginning of page one that outlines the setting for this conversation, the professional role the helper is in, and any relevant details about the client.

The dialog should be formatted like that of screenplay, like this

COUNSELLOR:This is where the counsellor says some stuff to the client.

CLIENT: Ah, yes that is very interesting. (shrugs) Doesn't really help me with my drinking problem though, does it?

COUNSELLOR: Yes, you are right about that. Let's leave the topic of how to format the assignment behind and get back to your relapse prevention plan, shall we?

CLIENT: Sounds good to me, I mean, we are on my dime here, after all . . .
