Scenario 9 Brian the manager of Heion, a Japanese restaurant located within the Continent Hotel. His job involves managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This includes overseeing staffing, inventory, and workplace safety. Just recently, he encountered a workplace hazard in his kitchen, which caused harm to many of his staff members. This was a stack of boxes abandoned in the corridor of the kitchen after delivery. Because it obstructed a part of the walkway, many staff members tripped and dropped the food they intended to serve. What surprised him most about this issue is that there is nothing in writing that states blocking walkways is not allowed. As this instance has caused harm to the staff members, it must be revisited and discussed. With this, Brian set a schedule for all staff members to meet tomorrow before the start of the service period to discuss workplace hazards. The meeting will serve as a helpful refresher to all staff members in the restaurant, regardless of seniority. This will also serve as a sharing session to see what the staff members are already familiar with.
