SCENARIO. An ultra-fundamentalist group in Hawkins County, Tennessee objects to several items in the curriculum of the local public schools. They threaten to remove their children from the schools if the books that offend them are not removed. They do not want to set up private schools or home school their children but argue that the local schools should accommodate their religious views by altering their curriculum.
