Scenario example A diverse group of plumbing lecturers at a further education college come together as a team in response to being asked to deliver a new industry-focused apprenticeship in plumbing. This requires them to deliver learning about new technologies and processes used in the industry. They need to respond to the new qualification as a team and as individual lecturers. As some of the lecturers have retired from the plumbing trade, they benefit by learning more about modern approaches and ways of working from younger members of staff and those still working in the trade alongside their teaching commitments. As a team they review the new qualification requirements and specifications together and discuss and debate relevant issues to make sure everyone knows what they need to do. As a result of working together, lecturers are able to share experiences, best practices and identify opportunities for continued professional development
