Scenario:

Indigenous Artwork & Beading supplies (IABS) is a small wholesale and marketing entrepreneurship business. E-commerce shopping has increased, drastically. Sales & Marketing are looking to do some email marketing campaigns through Mailchimp. To keep costs low as an entrepreneurship business, IABS recently registered with HubSpot for a free CRM software package and would like to integrate an add-in to do an email marketing campaign throughout, Ontario.

Inception:

Indigenous Artwork & Beading Supplies, has grown considerable as a B2B venture. It was a small start-up business that initially targeted a few First Nations/Indigenous communities in Ontario, the band office being the business.

Current Situation:

Indigenous Artwork & Beading Supplies, has had enormous growth in sales through Facebook groups and is challenged to keep up with supply and demand. The CRM system has generated a substantial contact list of businesses in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Indigenous Artwork & Beading supplies would like to send out an email and marketing campaign, to increase leads to customers (B2B) across a large part of but not all of Canada, with increased retail stores, that serve a larger geographical area; a cluster of reserves 15 to 35 kilometres of each other. Northwest Territories and Nunavut, handcrafted products became very popular with ecommerce shopping in UK, Australia, and Mexico.

The vision was market innovative products, as well as traditional too. Facebook was lucrative with online auctions, (ex: dreamcatcher to the left in the picture); Competitive bidding by customers drove the value of the product and demanded high profits on return. Customers who drove on the reserve to buy smokes and gas, noticed the advertising, shopped, word of mouth spread, especially through Facebook. Other crafters wanted to learn how to make items like this or similar, so online webinars became popular. The innovative products became popular on and off reserve and increased demand.

Many of the crafters faced challenges with getting sufficient supplies for an affordable cost. Most purchased at the retail market price with many small orders from many people. Strategically located reserves in well-defined areas were my target; they initiated business economic development parks in their communities. I set them up with wholesale pricing through Indigenous Artwork & Beading Supplies, as well as help them market their handmade items, through online shopping such as Facebook groups and Etsy. The reach was incredible and improvements for a retail space for remotely located crafters with lack of reliable transportation, was a success.

Expansion happened across Ontario, and now Northwest Territories and Nunavut, crafters has been participating selling products online. The support and demand for genuine Indigenous art and crafted items has grown, especially with the "Every Child Matters" campaign, there has been a renewed sense of support. More crafters and businesses are required to keep up with demand.

Customers are starting to get disappointed with waiting longer, and starting to lose trust, sales were great at regular times throughout the year. Sales need a better way to build customer relationships, manage new contacts efficiently, create processes so products can be sent out in a timely manner.
