Scenario/Background for Discussion Question Bones-R-Us, an outpatient, not-for-profit, multi-specialty orthopedic clinic needs to purchase a new EHR to support their growing business. Their old EHR does not meet the requirements of several new laws and documentation requirements. The Bones-R-Us Clinic sees patients Monday- Friday from 6am to 7pm, Monday through Friday and performs outpatient surgeries (arthroscopic/exploratory surgery, joint wrist joint repair, carpel tunnel syndrome surgery, etc.), diagnostic services (film/imaging), occupational and physical therapy services, new and return patient consultations, 'and other rehabilitation services. The clinic employs 5 surgeons, 2 anesthesiologists, 5 CRNAs, 10 nurses and an administrative staff of 8 people (billing, check-in, coding, schedulers, etc.). The clinic performs about 2500 surgeries and procedures each year. Please note that Bones-R-Us is NOT replacing its billing system - only the EHR.
