SDLC Methodologies, Testing, System Changeover

Question:

You are working as member of one of the teams for a well-known international Company, which undertakes software development projects, based

on real-world problems of clients, including development of Enterprise Resource Planning systems. The team currently investigates a project for a

large-size Client organisation, requesting development of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to integrate all functional areas of the

Client's organisation, which will involve a thorough Risk Analysis for each Project's development stage.

The team needs to prepare a Report for the Client, and you were requested by the Lead Analyst of the team to:

a) Suggest most appropriate System Development Methodology to be followed for the Client's project, based on the type of Client's

organisation and requested type of project, explaining your reasons for recommending such Methodology.

b) Highlight 2 advantages and 2 disadvantages of the suggested Methodology for the Client's project.

c) Suggest and discuss the 3 types of Testing (apart from unit testing) to be considered as most important in the overall Project Testing

Plan, relevant to the type of the project undertaken for the Client's organization;

d) Suggest most appropriate Changeover strategy for the system requested for development by the Client, discussing advantages and

disadvantages of your proposed strategy for justification.

In your answer clearly state the name of the chosen strategy, how it works, its merits, based on which you have chosen it for the case, and

its disadvantages, and illustrate with a diagram.
