Sean is a gay, 17 year old African-American who is entitled to work in Canada who has applied to work as a cashier in a variety store in a small Ontario town. The store manager assured Sean that he has no issue with him working at the store. However, he cannot hire him because his customers hold traditional values and are not used to having a young, flamboyant homosexual serving them. Given the lack of racial diversity in this town, the manager suggests that he find employment in the "big city" where people are used to racial minorities. He also thinks that his inner city American accent makes him sound less intelligent and suggests that he learn to speak "like a real Canadian".
