Section $1$: Introduction

The introduction to a research project should have a clear and readable opening section that does four things:

It states the research ${?}^1$ The research question should be stated in general terms and in a specific version that is directly testable using data.

It discusses why the research question is interesting or important. This should include giving any background information necessary for the reader to understand your research question.

It summarizes what we already know about the research question. This includes listing any other research that has covered similar topics and tells how this research differs from what has been done before.

Summarizes the results. A research report is not a mystery novel. Your readers should not have to read to the end to find out the results of your Rather, casual readers should be able to get the whole idea from the introduction. Then if they want the details, then they read the rest. This section you can fill in later.

${?}^1$ What is a Testable Question? In the business world, a testable question is a question that can be answered through data$-$driven research or experimentation. Testable questions in business may be used to explore topics such as consumer behavior, market trends, or the effectiveness of different marketing strategies. For example, a business might ask a testable question such as "What is the most effective way to reach potential customers through social media?" or "How does the price of our product compare to similar products on the market?" In order to answer these questions, the business might conduct market research, run experiments, or analyze data from past sales and marketing campaigns. Like in other scientific research, testable questions in business are designed to help companies make informed decisions and to identify opportunities for improvement.
