As part of the business plan the organization hopes to expand island wide with the employment of 78 new persons spread over 7 new outlets. The employment will take place over the next year. Persons to be recruited will include customer care agents, managers, and a divisional manager in charge of the Western Region. HR will design and administer the final testing and selection tools for all person to be employed, current managers and supervisors will be expected to interview all persons short-listed. Training and HR has been mandated to get the managers and supervisors ready for participation in the recruitment drive. Recruitment interviewing will be new for most of the managers. In the interest of time the following areas of knowledge and skills have been identified as those to be concentrated on. Interviewing skills Job analysis Job characteristics. 1. Identify the training trigger(s) in the case. 2 marks 2. Outline how you would go about planning and executing a person analysis for these managers. In outlining your plan: a. Be specific about what three research techniques you would use and why these would be advantageous. b. Indicate three (3) persons you would require information from in conducting the training needs analysis. Explain why these persons would be key. 12 marks 3. List three (3) questions you would ask as part of the managers person analysis. Biographic questions are excluded from your answer. 6 marks 4.
