Select one of the case studies you analyzed in the chart. Discuss how these factors might affect engagement, assessment, and intervention with the client by addressing the following prompts, citing two to four sources to support your claims:

  1. Explain how culture may influence these variables.

  1. Look at the "Biophysical" column. Explain what you think is the most significant biophysical issue or problem the client is dealing with.

  1. Next, identify potential interventions that would most effectively address the biophysical issue or problem based on your knowledge and experience.

  1. Continue doing the same analysis about the client in your selected case study, using the "Psychological" column.

  1. Discuss identified problems or issues and related interventions within your selected case study. List potential environmental factors that may be affecting the client. How could these environmental factors be helping or harming the client? As the case manager, what is the most significant issue to be addressed first? What would be the most helpful intervention? Why?

Sharon is a 19-year-old African-American woman struggling with trauma and

anger. Sharon has a 4-year-old daughter, Grace, who was recently molested by Sharon's boyfriend. Sharon attempted to press charges but due to lack of evidence, the case is not proceeding at this time. Sharon's family has become very protective of Sharon's daughter and blames Sharon for everything that happened. They are also Sharon's only support system and tend to be very controlling and verbally abusive towards her at times. Sharon and Grace currently live with Sharon's parents after moving out of the boyfriend's apartment due to these events. Sharon is not working at this time because she has sickle cell anemia and has recently been in and out of the hospital several times. Sharon reports that she is very depressed and struggles with self-care, and that she is not always good about taking her medications and attending follow-up appointments. Sharon is beginning to recognize that she is in a cycle of not caring for herself which leads to increased reliance on her parents who are financially supportive but not emotionally healthy. She wants to find ways to break this cycle and be more independent but doesn't know where to start.
