Conduct an opposition research-style investigation into the selected tech giant and compile an internal research report. Investigate a selected tech giant and prepare an opposition research report on its strengths and weaknesses. The objective of this report is to gather available information from multiple sources regarding the tech giants strengths and weaknesses. Information gathered should ideally provide a structured and reasoned process, from which one may choose a viable course of action to improve the tech giants public profile. 1. Executive Summary (10 marks). It summarises your major findings (i.e. the tech giants strengths and weaknesses) and recommends briefly adjustments and/or new initiatives to improve the tech giants public profile. 2. Explanatory Note on Research Process (10 marks). It explains your research process, i.e. the type of sources you have looked at, used and discounted, and the reasons why. 3. Primary Research Report (20 marks) It must include the following sub-sections (in the order as listed): a. Outline the tech giants origins and its major achievements in technological advancements and public engagement; b. Highlight the major scandals and criticisms experienced by the tech giant since its beginnings, and identify the top three major scandals and criticisms in the last ten years; c. Examine the causes of the top three scandals and criticisms and discuss how the tech giant has addressed those incidents and related issues; d. Briefly compare the tech giants achievements, strengths and weakness with those of a fellow tech giant competitor (*must be from a different country); e. Identify three areas where the tech giant can improve on and recommend changes to improve the tech giants public profile. (This section fleshes out the Executive Summary and can form part of the basis for the infographic). f. A bibliography of sources consulted.
