Several opportunities exist to "re-imagine" how the HCHD does business. A sampling of this includes: 1. Establish a "Steering Committee" of key stakeholders to re-imagine what the HCHD should be. Include a full analysis of public health surveillance changes needed to lower overhead and cost; a. This will include review and ID of regulatory mandated items;; b. This would include a list of redeployment (FTE) options based on updated needs; c. This would include paying MDs to participate. d. This would include a review of national best practices in health dept. operations
