Several years ago, Mr Midas was a guest speaker at the St Thomas More Primary School when twins Prometheus and Pan were in attendance. During his speech, Mr Midas told the assembled group they could visit him and his premises 'anytime' in the future and would be welcome if they were 'well-behaved'. The twins (Prometheus and Pan), now aged 15 years, were very fond of riding their bicycles along bush tracks in an outer suburb of their capital city. They would often ride routes that formed part of a giant State National Park. One day they found what they later said looked like a 'cool moto-cross' track which was 'very inviting'. After riding at dangerous speeds for ten minutes, they both fell into a deep hole and suffered injuries from contact with disused mining equipment. In fact, they were no longer in the State National Park but had strayed into an old mining complex on private land owned by Mr Midas. After investigation, you find that the mine closed many years ago; the guard fences have now fallen over, and the 'KEEP OUT' signs have faded and are no longer visible. In any event, Prometheus and Pan suffer from a reading disability and could not have read the signs if they had seen them.
