• Sex offenders are unique from all other types of offenders in that they experience additional punishments after they complete their correctional sentence. This includes being listed on the Sex Offender Registry, community notification, and residence restrictions. Research suggests that these measures do little to reduce sex offending and cost tax payers millions of dollars each year.Discuss the advantages (or intended goals) and disadvantages of these measures, and explain whether or not we should keep them, eliminate them, or modify them (and how so).
