Sheet 1-Hornworms: Hornworm trophic efficiencies calculated by Rowan students in previous semesters of Introduction to Ecology. Students fed hornworms "plain" and "fiber-enriched" food sources for a two-week period. They weighed the amount of food that was consumed by their hornworms each day to calculate consumption efficiency. They weighed the fecal matter of the hornworms to calculate assimilation efficiency. And they weighed the hornworms, themselves, to calculate production efficiency. They took all of these into account to calculate the trophic level transfer efficiency. They did this on a worm-by-worm basis (N=18 worms per treatment), presented in cells A2:H19 of the Excel sheet
