He accumulated the points and submitted them to Pepsi. Pepsi subsequently notified him that they rejected his offer for the leather jacket and returned the Pepsi Points to him. When he complained, Pepsi informed him that neither its television commercial nor its catalogue was an "offer" and therefore no contract was ever formed.
