If the student and skateboard have a mass of 60.0 kg, calculate the acceleration of the student and skateboard down the slope. Please show your work with your calculations. (6 marks) 2. A 150 kg pump for the oil industry is strapped to a 10.0 kg oak pallet sitting in the back of a truck travelling north. The coefficient of static friction between the pallet and the truck is 0.500 and the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.300. Determine the acceleration when 780 N of force is applied and when 800 N is applied. (6 marks) 3. You attach a block (9.22 g) and a dime (3.65 g) to the ends of a thread. You put the thread over a smooth horizontal bar and pull the thread taut. Finally, you release your hands, letting the block drop and the dime rise. Friction between the thread and the bar is negligible. Determine the acceleration of each coin and the tension in the thread. (6 marks)
