a. Intro to Counters Lesson 0-7
Lab Task
You are to make a program that manages the "floor full' indicators of a parking garage. The parking
garage has three floors, and a capacity of 5 cars per floor. We are designing a program for use during
large events, so there is no exit sensor used. Cars will enter and park in the first available space, until
capacity is reached. After the event, an operator will release all the guests and the counts reset to zero
for all floors. You will need to create the following tags:
Entrance - Boolean sensor that momentarily goes ON when a car enters the garage.
Release - The garage operator releases all cars, resetting the floor capacity counts.
Floor 1 Full-Boolean indicator.
Floor 2 Full - Boolean indicator.
Garage Full - Boolean indicator.
F1Count - Cars on floor 1 counter.
F2Count - Cars on floor 3 counter.
F3Count - Cars on floor 3 counter.
Your submission will be graded by cycling the Entrance tag. After 5 ON/OFF cycles, Floor 1 Full should
turn ON. After 5 more cycles, Floor 2 Full should turn ON. Finally, after 5 more, Garage Full should turn
ON. The reset tag will then be cycled, and all three indicators should turn back off.
You need to accomplish this task with counters only, not other numeric operators that we haven't
discussed yet.
