Simon in Turtle Bay wrote to Hannah in Hodges Bay offering ro sell Hannah his car for $20,000. On receiving simon's offer, Hannah telephoned him Monday morning to accept. Simon however, said that since such a large sum of money was involved, he wanted a written confirmation of the acceptance to him by 11:00 AM the next day (Tuesday), he would go ahead with the sale at $20,000. Hannah at once wrote to him and posted the letter of acceptance on Monday at 2:00 AM, which simon received at 9:00 AM on Tuesday morning. in the meantime, however, simon had received a better offer for his car and wrote to Hannah withdrawing his offer to her.
