During each minute a random number of calls arrives, and a random number is serviced. If the number arriving exceeds the number serviced, then a queue is formed. On average, this queue ought to be zero, but the numbers arriving and being serviced are uncertain.

Average rate of new calls: Lamda =4 per minute. These appear random and probabilistically independent of one another, so approximating them with a Poisson distribution seems reasonable
