Since we all know that we are getting worse and worse at having to read anything, your mission this week is to
take a text based element and create a visual story from it. When students work on presentations, this is an
area that many struggle with - turning text into a visual that can be explained. Students will use this assignment
to practice using PowerPoint and storytelling. Students may pick from the following topics:
Gen Z versus Millennials
The Effects of Climate Change
These are the Best Products
Rising Mental Health Concerns
Best Videos on YouTube
Purpose of this assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to locate, understand, and utilize institutional policies, tools, and resources and
student organizations that support academic success.
Criteria for this assignment
Instructions :
Students will begin this assignment by creating a PowerPoint presentation. All students have access to Microsoft
Office, including PowerPoint. If you are unsure how to access Office, log in to MYCCP, go to your email, click the
app launcher on the top left (the waffle iron button)- this will give you access to all Microsoft apps. You may use
a template design, but you will get extra points for designing your own presentation. For this assignment.you
must follow the rules. The rules are that you may only use text for the header on the slide and bullet points with
1-3 words. Instead of using words consider how an image can better support your topic. One slide must include
animation. Too often we see animations that are used on slides that do not elevate the slide design. Create a
PowerPoint slide and place animation in the slide. Think about how text, images headers and color are working
together and why you want to use animation on this slide. Your presentation must include the following, based
on your topic:
Cover Slide
Include your name, class, instructor, and topic.
Topic Introduction Slide
Introduce your topic. Where do you stand on this topic? Are you supporting, negating, stating a claim,
etc.?
Supportive Slide
Identify the facts or opinions to support your stance from the topic introduction slide.
Data Slide
Provide data research in the form of a chart, graph, list, etc. to support your topic introduction slide.
Summary Slide
What is the audience supposed to take away from your presentation?
Citations
Provide appropriate citations for your research.
