Singapore Day is a signature event organized by the Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) to engage Overseas Singaporeans (OS). It aims to keep OS abreast of the latest developments in various aspects of life in Singapore and to galvanize the OS community to come together as one to celebrate all things Singaporean. Inaugurated in 2007, the first edition of Singapore Day was held in New York; since then, this event has gone to Melbourne, London, and Shanghai. The 2019 edition in Shanghai, China, was graced by the Deputy Prime Minister and included representatives from public sector agencies, food crew, concert artists and production crew. Besides the usual segments such as a concert featuring local artists, a hawker fest where OS can savor authentic hawker treats, and an experiential showcase with information on the latest developments at home, Singapore Day 2019, which was held at a park, also had a fundraising activity in support of President Challenge 2019.
